Great story. It will make u think about what goes on in people heads. Also the consequences that come along with it their actions.
I'm a Shelia Goss fan.
Samson, a pastor at Peaceful Rest, is just weeks away from getting married. Delilah, a member of his church, (sent to motivate Samson to give up something that he's charged with protecting for his church)eventually falls in love with him, and integrates herself too well within the Peaceful Rest family. After all, based on stereotypes, what single woman doesn't want a "family" or a man like Samson, who represents authority, power, and is overall, a well-rounded good man?
But as the story unfolds secrets are revealed, stirring the lives of the main characters and the congregation, and Peaceful Rest is no longer "peaceful". Ms. Goss's revamp of the biblical story Samson and Delilah has just enough realistic spice between the main characters, without going overboard, which would take away from the undertones of the biblical pretense.
I enjoy stories with moral and spiritual lessons, and Delilah definitely serves it up. It's right on time for contemporary churches and Christians, and reflects what can happen when a person covets someone in a way that goes against the commandments. Delilah saw her ideal man and did everything she could to make him hers, only her actions come at a great cost.
This book met my expectations and kept me wanting to read more.
